Time to move!

I wanted to share something that describes quite well what I will be doing in this trip, which is: TRAVEL!

For my part I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel's sake.
The great affair is to move, to feel the needs and hitches of our life more nearly, to come down off the feather-bed of civilization and find the globe granite underfoot and strewn with cutting flints.
Robert Louis Stevenson

This is it... I have not much to add.
This is the moment... just go.

I need to go. To leave, to go beyond boundaries, to move and to feel the unknown coming. I want get away from routines, to choose and to learn.

Moving depends on us only, Nana & me!

My mobile room with panoramic view!

First of all I have to thank that someone for lending me this fabulous tent! I will take good care of it, just like it was my own! Thank you both... for coming to Geneva Airport on purpose! (the wine was very good though...)

My mobile room is perfect! Feather weight and piece of cake to get it standing!
I am thinking though... how will we both fit in? (both=Nana & me). How can I look after Nana during the night? Shall I tie her to my foot? And my two 20L panniers?!?
We will see how it goes...

The tent is QUITE small, but I'm guessing I'll be too tired to notice and for sure any horizontal laying position will feel like heaven!

I am anxious to go CAMPING!!!

Her name is NANA and we'll be riding for over 3000km together!

Here SHE is! She was born on the 23th of May and it was love @ first sight!
She's quite bigger than I expected but only weights 13 kg!
Today we went for a ride to Expo and while on the road I was trying to figure a name for her...
Just when I was getting home I found it written in the wall: NANA!
She roles beautifully and I start to feel we will get along perfectly!

A huge "Thank you" to both Tiagos: Fonseca & Bilou!

P.S.: Nana may seem normal to most of you... but she has green blood in her tires!

The Departure day was decided...

I had to have a D-day and it had to be after my B-day!
... For a change, and because making choices is mostly what this trip will be about, I left this hard decision to my friends Inês and Gonçalo. They did a quick game "Pedra, papel ou tesoura" after dinner and he won...  15th of August!

Did 40ºC just ran through your mind? Might be, but just like the J&B whisky I am guessing the weather is like tradition: Not what it used to be!

This means I have now 91 day to go...
91 days to plan is an eternity when I come to think my Nº1 rule will be Flexibility!!

Ok... of course I will have some rules and goals that I will establish along these days but above all this trip is all about free-styling and getting the most out of my every day decision-making!

My trip starts today!
Creating this blog is my first step into this journey. My road trip will only start in mid August but I guess I have a long "way to ride" to get everything ready and planned!

Yesterday I moved to my own apartment in Lisbon... I waited for 2 long years before I could come in, but I assure you: It is worth the waiting! It's MY PLACE! At least for the next 3 months I'll make the best out of it!
But time doesn't chose timings, life does it!
So I guess my life is imposing me to move on and live along.

Decision taken, some question arise.
There are manly 3 reactions when I announce my trip plan:
. Are you crazy? Why are you going on a bike?! and alone?!
. Ha-Ha! You? You will never make it. (I usually get this message through by reading their eyes and smiles)
. How cool is that?! I would love to have the courage...

I will, along my posting, try to change your mindset.
